I am so very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Libby Kinkead. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, helpful, inspiring, and kind-hearted! When you work with Libby, you are immediately put at ease by her relaxed, down-to-earth approach. At the same time, she's highly energetic and motivating. The truth is I've read a lot about getting organized (which is a whole lot easier than actually being organized!) But after a recent class with Libby, I shifted into "get it done" mode. She gave me the boost I needed to take care of my clutter without judgment! I suffered a serious knee injury in June 2016 that required two surgeries and months of physical therapy, and my doctor advised me to move to a single-level home to avoid having to climb stairs, and potentially injure my knee again. I was finally able to move in December 2016. As I sat in my new apartment that first night, unable to walk unassisted, I looked around me and saw about 30 boxes stacked up in piles upon each other, creating a wall four feet thick against one wall. I quickly came to the conclusion there was no way a disabled person like me was capable of doing ANYTHING by myself – like find which box contained bed sheets and blankets and make a bed that first night, much less open every box, one by one, and store food, clothing, electronics, and arrange furniture. Not with one hand holding on to a cane. Fortunately, I had insisted that my computer be hooked up in advance of the move. I Googled the words "home organizers" and came across Potomac Concierge – a professional home organization company. Within 48 hours, three of the loveliest women in the world – Coleen, Sandi and Anne were knocking on my door. I didn't have to tell them what to do. They looked around and KNEW what had to be done. They spent the entire day quickly opening box after box, arranging ALL of my belongings based on what room they needed to be in, creating a pile of items that I wanted to donate to a charity, throwing out things I no longer had use for, storing other belongings in a storage locker, running errands for me to nearby stores, and hauling about 50 pounds of empty cardboard boxes to the recycling room down the hall. Just to give you one example of the quality of their work – they balled up all my socks and rolled up underwear, and neatly arranged them in neat little rows in dresser drawers, folded and stacked all my shorts and shirts, and hung up all my tee-shirts and pants. And Anne even came back on two more days, finalizing things and putting the finishing touches on what turned out to be the most organized home I had ever lived in. I cannot describe how much stress was lifted from me and how relieved I felt a few days later to look around my apartment – knowing exactly where to find everything I owned. I cannot thank these ladies enough for what to me was a relatively inexpensive and swift way to get settled into a new home. My advice to anyone out there who is planning to move and wants to avoid a lot of the headache involved in relocating – call Potomac Concierge. You will never regret it !

The ladies of Potomac Concierge were a godsend. We moved to our new house in McLean with two little kids running around and no help, overwhelmed with the prospect of unpacking. Aida and her colleagues not only unpacked everything – from the children's toys, kitchen stuff, bathroom stuff… everything – but they organized it all an a super logical and efficient way. Potomac Concierge recently helped us move my father out of his home of more than a half-century and across the country to a senior living community. This was, as you can imagine, a complex and stressful undertaking, and they handled it all with patience, experitse, and thoughtfulness. Libby was very effective in getting the project off the ground–setting expectations, understanding our needs, getting to grips with the particular situation. This took a bit, but once we were going she found the right solutions to our situation. In particular she assigned Dana to our case. I can't recommend her highly enough. We literally could not have done it without her. She went out of her way to make this easier for my father, and for the rest of us, who live relatively far away. I am so happy that I found Potomac Concierge! About 1/2 of the way through a whole-house renovation, I hit a wall. We had so much "stuff" to get out of the house, decide what to keep, and how to dispose of what we weren't keeping. It was overwhelming and I was stuck! While researching the many home auction and estate sale options, I stumbled onto the Potomac Concierge website and immediately liked their approach to beig an assistant in all things remodel management and home organization. I booked a free consultation call with Libby Kinkead and she was not only emphathetic, but so incredibly helpful in sharing insights about charitable donations and the stuff we wanted to get rid of. Libby set me up with Audrey Mulholland and it was like having a white knight ride in! Audrey has a wonderful demeanor, is professional but warm, understands how to gently prod to keep me on track (as in "is that piece really keeping to the feel you are going for?"), jumps in to do anything, keeps moving things along when a subcontractor pulls me away, and always helps balance the stress by encouraging me to see the progress, not the mess. Audrey's expertise in furniture and clothing consignment and donation enabled me to sell so much rather than just give it away. Forget the "Kondo Method" — the process with Audrey is as effective and, even better, it's fun because she becomes a friend. I'm still working with Audrey until we can put away the last pot and hang the last shirt. I can't recommend Audrey and Potomac Concierge strongly enough and am grateful that they do what they do!

I write for two reasons: first, in hope that others may have the opportunity I had; second as a means to express my sincere appreciation to Libby and Aida for their invaluable assistance. The original need was to "declutter" a small jewel of a home in Capitol Hill, lived in for 40 years which had in addition the leftovers of two other deaccessioned homes. The driver- to put the house on the market. Libby and Aida assisted with the deaccessioning of memories, furniture and furnishings with respect and sensitivity. They boxed up plenty of "rubbish" for collection. They boxed up some articles for disposition to various charities. They marked items for the movers. They are workers. They also performed an expected service and assisted in "staging" the house very tastefully for inspection. A major strength: their vendors on call are reliable, competent and prompt-rubbish disposal, moving company, storage. Moving into this house 40 years ago was a joy. I called Potomac Concierge Services (PCS) a few weeks back, frantically needing help to get our house de-cluttered and ready to put on the market for sale before the end of the month. The rub was that we had three days to get it done before I had to leave on a 5 day business trip! Aida and her excellent staff, which included Audrey, Dionne & Susan whisked in and saved the day! They helped us purge, de-clutter and organize, all in record time. This was no small feat considering that my husband and I merged two households during our previous move without the benefit of a purge. Add five years and two kids to the mix and you can imagine the task we were facing. To say we felt overwhelmed was an understatement! But, the PCS staff immediately put our minds at ease. I had the Power of Attorney for a retired Foreign Service Officer who had been living in a retirement home for the last seven years. He owned a lovely one-bedroom apartment in Georgetown which had remained empty during that time. Since I worked full-time and travelled frequently, I did not have the time to clean out the apartment and prepare it for sale. I hired Potomac Concierge, and specifically, Janet, to prepare the apartment for sale by removing all the furniture, clothes, books, and anything of value and then staging it. Janet and her colleagues cleaned the apartment, arranged for auctioning the valuable pieces, replaced the carpeting with hardwood floors, repaired the windows, arranged for painting of the entire apartment, and arranged for distribution and donation of remaining items to the proper organizations. They also cleaned and removed all items in the storage room. All of this was accomplished within a month with very few calls to me. The staff, and particularly Janet, did an outstanding job. They are very professional, have access to good contractors, and removed a terrific burden from me.

Big shout out to Shannon for coordinating our move, packing, moving day and unpacking. She was on top of everything from start to finish. I highly recommend her and Potomac Concierge.

Prior to the COVID pandemic, I commuted to Washington, D.C. each week for work. Since March 2019, my business travel has been limited, but I continue to maintain an apartment in D.C. What a great experience! I had Kelly and Marley help me with unpacking and putting things away in my new apartment right after a move in, including setting up the kitchen and master bedroom, among other tasks. They were terrific–experts at what they do, and very kind and patient with me during a very challenging moving week.
