I literally could not have stayed in my home during the pandemic nor gotten my house ready to sell without Kelly’s outstanding assistance. Kelly had a solution to every problem and always was calm while addressing any challenge. I think of Kelly as my guardian angel. Kristin also was essential during the process of packing up my house belongings and moving into my new apartment. As an example of the special care they gave to my china cup collection, Kelly took photographs of the secretary and display case in which the cups were displayed and then she and Kristin unpacked the cups and put them back in the identical order. I am eternally grateful to both of them.

Well, it finally happened: A big move forced me to deal with my storage unit! I had a mix of *stuff* ranging from old furniture to art supplies–my own items and my late mother's–and it was nearly impossible to make a dent on my own. Between Jennifer's truly outstanding organizational skills and the help of a small crew to move heavy items (and remove the things I needed to part with), my 10×22' nightmare became a manageable space in three hours! The right time to downsize will be up to you.

Many new empty nesters choose to downsize right away so they can begin to make new memories on their own. Others may choose to wait for a while, especially if the kids visit and want to stay at home.

No matter when you choose to downsize the home itself, you can choose to start eliminating items you no longer use at any time. 

Downsizing is definitely worth it if you look at it in terms of your budget and the amount of work you have to put into caring for your home.

If it’s only the two of you, moving into a smaller home will save you money in many ways. Selling your larger home and purchasing a smaller one may offer you a tidy profit that you can invest in your retirement.
