A Day in the Life of Our Personal Assistants, Organizers, and Move Managers

As our services are completely customizable and dependent on the individual, each day at Potomac Concierge is different. Below are a few of the tasks we’ve completed for clients, all in a day’s work.


  • Transformed living space from uninhabitable to lovely
  • Made space for significant other to move in
  • Found thousands in uncashed checks during office organization

Moving Services

  • Moved client from one house to another while they went on vacation
  • Decluttered, organized, oversaw vendors to ready house for sale in record time
  • Helped out-of-state client with move to Maryland (walk-through with realtor, inspectors, setting up all utilities, installation of alarm and window treatments)
  • Packed and unpacked treasured possessions during clients’ moves
  • Arranged to transport a car 1,200 miles (with just a day’s notice)
  • Delivered two elderly cats to client’s new home by car (600 miles from home)

Personal Services

  • Helped widows, widowers, and elderly couples sort, inventory, and allocate all possessions (what to keep, donate, sell, give away, discard)
  • Researched, planned, and booked international vacation for client
  • Created birthday card file for client, bought appropriate cards, and sorted by month
  • Sorted and put into storage possessions of client under long-term hospital care
  • Organized conversion of more than 100 VHS tapes to 29 DVDs
  • Patient advocate during client’s surgery; ensured patient’s stable return to home for recovery
  • Organized 15 years of loose photos into albums

Household Management

  • Handled all aspects of flooded house from broken pipes during routine house check while client out of town
  • Executed weekly “to do’ lists (bill pay, shopping and problem resolution)
  • Kept out-of-town client’s outdoor plants thriving during drought
  • Set up and took down interior and exterior holiday home decorations
  • Inventoried, shopped, and stocked kitchen on weekly basis
  • Researched and created house maintenance books (all manuals, instructions, etc. in one place)

Corporate Events

  • Executive level special event planning
  • Inventoried all electronic equipment for company of 65 employees
  • Client conference arrangements, including all accommodations and side trips
  • Wrapped 800 personal holiday gifts for employees as employer sponsored benefit
  • Performed “errand days” to keep employees at office and focused (employer paid benefit)
  • Purchased, wrapped, and delivered a kitchen sink as a ‘gift’ from a prospective employer to a candidate to show he could “even have the kitchen sink” if he chose to work with this company


  • Organized personal effects and paperwork of deceased parent of client
  • Assisted in lengthy adoption process
  • Obtained and organized necessary documents for upcoming civil trial
